Performance and Rider Points

Both horse and rider must be registered with MSA before either can accumulate points.  Riders may pre-register or register at the shows before competing.  No points will be counted which are gained by either horse or rider prior to registration.  Each horse/pony may enter a class only once, except in Equitation or Horsemanship divisions/classes.

Points in all divisions are to be awarded as follows:

·         1st – 7 points

·         2nd – 5 points

·         3rd – 4 points

·         4th – 3 points

·         5th – 2 points

·         6th – 1 point

Accumulative Awards and Points

Awards are presented at the annual awards ceremony.       There are two performance divisions, English and Western, in which a horse or pony may accumulate points, and in which awards will be presented annually. A horse or pony may receive an award in both the English and Western divisions; however, English and Western performance points will not be combined.

Accumulative awards are:
